Tablescape for Craft Fair

I am so in love with table-scaping.  I first discovered this term when I was helping a friend with her son's wedding.  She wanted to create table decorations that was more of an experience rather than pieces of glass, vase and mirrors just placed on top of a white table cloth.  She created a rustic chic look with flowers in water pitchers, the table signs were street signs from streets the bride and groom grew up on or worked on, and each tablecloth was a vintage cloth in light green, white or ivory colors.  Siting at the table made each guest feel like they were at a family dinner on the farm.  So for my recent craft fair, I used different props to create an experience for viewing my stationary for sale.  I wanted the buyer to feel like they were in their own scrapbooking room at home.

My cards were packaged in plastic bags and placed in shelving organizers.  I adorned the shelves with paper pinwheel rosettes,

The shelves my cards were sold in are actually shelves I use at home to organize my work.

The shelves were placed on a shabby chic white wooden tiered shelf.  I definitely did not want to use those cold, spinning metal racks cards are often sold on.

I added my old typewriter as a prop and to cleverly hold my business cards.  It also helped to create the experience that it was my work desk also.  This helps since I want my customers to know that everything I do is handcrafted.

  1. It was such a pleasure meeting you this weekend! I was so impressed with your paper craft but also with your display- I definitely appreciate the crafter that takes everything to the next level- and you said it perfectly, I felt like I was in a posh beautiful craft room! I'm excited to share your designs with my friends and looking forward to seeing you again!
